Painters Like Marlies Merk Najaka Inspired by Nature

Melon Bowl by Marlies Merk Najaka
Melon Bowl
Marlies Merk Najaka

The art we live with takes many shapes and forms, from the abstract painting on the wall, to the sensuous bracelet on the wrist, to the well-formed teacup on the table. Indeed, this morning I sat staring at my breakfast bowl of summer fruit, and considered the wondrous art forms created by nature.

Artists have been inspired by nature’s bounty since the beginning of time. I particularly like the work of painters such as Marlies Merk Najaka. Najaka fuses realism with abstract design to create highly detailed depictions of daily scenes. Her large masses of light and shade are composed much like a jigsaw puzzle, fitting all of the pieces in until the whole image comes together.

I hope that the remainder of your summer is filled with beautiful things that bring not only physical but also psychological sustenance!
